Practice Using the Brace Drill

by Craig Stevens

A Swiss Cheese “Sign” Project

Here’s something fun to try.  Print your name on a sign like “Katie’s Room”, or “Nick’s Tools”, in big letters on a piece of wood.  Use your brace and bit to drill holes along the letters leaving a space in-between the holes of about a ¼”.  Be creative and make up your own signs.  A word of caution here, signs like “No brothers Allowed”, or “Keep Out”, may not be appreciated by your parents or your little brother/sister.

Hi and a Happy Easter to everyone.
I came across your site today and really like what I see. Although I am 65 I still teach school children construction at a local college. This course contains a good amount of woodwork. I also have a grandson of 17months and am looking forward to the day when I can introduce him to my workshop and teach him a few woodwork tricks. Your site is going to prove to be a real source of knowledge and ideas. Thank you for your forethought and bringing the joys of woodwork to our children the carpenters and joiners of the future.

Thank you so much for this website.
I want to help my grandson with learning wood projects, but don’t have the skills to do so but with your website, with explainations so easy to follow, we both will learn a lot. JoAnn
